Information we collect
- Contact information you provide: name, email, phone, company, and service location.
- Electricity usage and account information you provide: usage history, current rate or monthly spend, current provider, ESI ID, and contract terms.
- With your authorization, electricity usage history obtained from your current provider or the transmission/distribution utility.
- Technical data automatically logged with form submissions: timestamp, IP address, and browser/user-agent, retained for compliance and security.
How we use your information
We use your information to prepare your savings analysis, to prepare and present retail electric provider (REP) offers, and to connect you with a provider you choose. We are compensated by the suppliers we work with; you pay us no separate fee.
How we share your information
- With retail electric providers and suppliers, only with your authorization and only as needed to obtain the offers you ask us to pursue.
- With service vendors that act on our behalf (for example, our customer-relationship and email/SMS platforms), under appropriate confidentiality obligations.
- When required by law or to respond to a lawful request from the Public Utility Commission of Texas or other authority.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use tact-energy.com so we can improve it. For SMS, reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help; you may unsubscribe from emails at any time. Mobile opt-in information is not shared with third parties for their own marketing.
Data security, retention, and disposal
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information. We retain records as required by Texas law (generally at least two years) and then dispose of them securely.
